Katie White

A native of coastal South Carolina, Katie earned her bachelor degree in Music Education from Furman University. As a middle school music teacher, Katie taught band, chorus, and private music lessons. The birth of her first son was Katie’s catalyst into Early Childhood Education. An Infant and Toddler teacher since 2016, Katie loves making discoveries alongside her students each day. Her curiosity, zeal, and genuine love of children makes her an engaging, nurturing presence in the classroom. Katie strongly believes that children are capable and she is passionate about fostering inquiry-based learning for her students. Katie is pursuing her Masters Degree from EKU in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education and Teacher Leadership. Katie’s hobbies include making music, spending time outdoors with her two children, and exploring Louisville.

Lenise Tidwell

Lenise Tidwell is a graduate of the Early Childhood Education Program at Campbellsville University. Her love and passion for children and how they learn brought her to 2nd Pres Weekday School. She believes in the development of the whole child and the progressive approach to learning by using the Reggio Emilia approach. She is excited to be part of guiding and observing young children as they grow and develop. Outside of school, she loves playing with her two dogs and being adventurous with her husband. They love hiking, zip lining, traveling, and exploring all the wonderful things that life has to offer. She is also part of Compassion International as a sponsor parent.

Cathy Ross

Cathy Ross graduated from Murray State University with a degree in Child Development. She worked as an Early Childhood Interventionist with First Steps in Indiana, a teacher at Middletown Christian Preschool working with both two-year-olds and three-year-olds. Cathy enjoys spending time with her husband and five children, reading and baking. She is very excited to join the ITP staff, teaching alongside Alicia and Karen.

Anne Monarch

Anne Monarch graduated from Hollins University with a BA in psychology.  Anne and her husband, Bryan, live in Goshen with their two children, Jack (14) and Mary (10).  Anne is very excited to be joining the 2nd Pres staff!

Alicia Marts

Alicia Marts is excited to start her first year with the 2nd Pres. family as one of the teachers in Toddler A. She has recently moved from Owensboro, KY where she has taught at Head Start Centers off and on for the past 6 years. She has a BA in Spanish from Kentucky Wesleyan College, and a MA in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education from Murray State University.  Alicia has two wonderful children who keep her, and her husband, busy. She loves nature, being creative, and getting messy. Her favorite thing about teaching is being able to explore new concepts in a variety of ways.

Karen Logue

Karen Logue is excited to be joining as a co-teacher in Toddler A with Alicia Marts and Cathy Ross.  She was born in England and lived in North Africa, Hong Kong and the UK prior to immigrating to the USA in 1988. She is a registered nurse with 30 plus years of experience.  She and her husband have been happily married for over 30 years. They have a son that is a senior at the University of Louisville. She enjoys remodeling her home, spending time with her three dogs and spending time with family and friends.

Nina Hilbert

Nina Hilbert joined our staff in January of 1998 after having served Second Presbyterian Church working with the 2s in Sunday School and in the Parents’ Day Out program. Nina graduated from U of L with a BA in Liberal Studies. For fifteen years Nina co-taught in the 2s. In addition to teaching 2s, Nina was one of our coordinators for the Lunch Bunch Program. She and her husband, Steve, have one adult daughter. Nina is currently coordinator of our Infant Toddler Program. Her hobbies include gardening, walking, reading, and yoga.
