Infant Toddler Program

Nina Hilbert

Nina Hilbert joined our staff in January of 1998 after having served Second Presbyterian Church working with the 2s in Sunday School and in the Parents’ Day Out program. Nina graduated from U of L with a BA in Liberal Studies. For fifteen years Nina co-taught in the 2s. In addition to teaching 2s, Nina was one of our coordinators for the Lunch Bunch Program. She and her husband, Steve, have one adult daughter. Nina is currently coordinator of our Infant Toddler Program. Her hobbies include gardening, walking, reading, and yoga.

Karen Logue


Karen Logue is excited to be joining as a co-teacher in Toddler A with Alicia Marts and Cathy Ross.  She was born in England and lived in North Africa, Hong Kong and the UK prior to immigrating to the USA in 1988. She is a registered nurse with 30 plus years of experience.  She and her husband have been happily married for over 30 years. They have a son that is a senior at the University of Louisville. She enjoys remodeling her home, spending time with her three dogs and spending time with family and friends.

Alicia Marts

Alicia Marts is excited to start her first year with the 2nd Pres. family as one of the teachers in Toddler A. She has recently moved from Owensboro, KY where she has taught at Head Start Centers off and on for the past 6 years. She has a BA in Spanish from Kentucky Wesleyan College, and a MA in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education from Murray State University.  Alicia has two wonderful children who keep her, and her husband, busy. She loves nature, being creative, and getting messy. Her favorite thing about teaching is being able to explore new concepts in a variety of ways.

Anne Monarch


Anne Monarch graduated from Hollins University with a BA in psychology.  Anne and her husband, Bryan, live in Goshen with their two children, Jack (14) and Mary (10).  Anne is very excited to be joining the 2nd Pres staff!

Cathy Ross


Cathy Ross graduated from Murray State University with a degree in Child Development. She worked as an Early Childhood Interventionist with First Steps in Indiana, a teacher at Middletown Christian Preschool working with both two-year-olds and three-year-olds. Cathy enjoys spending time with her husband and five children, reading and baking. She is very excited to join the ITP staff, teaching alongside Alicia and Karen.

Lenise Tidwell


Lenise Tidwell is a graduate of the Early Childhood Education Program at Campbellsville University. Her love and passion for children and how they learn brought her to 2nd Pres Weekday School. She believes in the development of the whole child and the progressive approach to learning by using the Reggio Emilia approach. She is excited to be part of guiding and observing young children as they grow and develop. Outside of school, she loves playing with her two dogs and being adventurous with her husband. They love hiking, zip lining, traveling, and exploring all the wonderful things that life has to offer. She is also part of Compassion International as a sponsor parent.

Katie White

A native of coastal South Carolina, Katie earned her bachelor degree in Music Education from Furman University. As a middle school music teacher, Katie taught band, chorus, and private music lessons. The birth of her first son was Katie’s catalyst into Early Childhood Education. An Infant and Toddler teacher since 2016, Katie loves making discoveries alongside her students each day. Her curiosity, zeal, and genuine love of children makes her an engaging, nurturing presence in the classroom. Katie strongly believes that children are capable and she is passionate about fostering inquiry-based learning for her students. Katie is pursuing her Masters Degree from EKU in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education and Teacher Leadership. Katie’s hobbies include making music, spending time outdoors with her two children, and exploring Louisville.

2’s Teachers

Kristi Conrad

Kristi Conrad has been at 2nd Pres for 6 years, and has been teaching the twos with Kim Pitchford since 2015.  She graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Hotel Management and studied Early Childhood at Indiana University.  She and her husband, Dave, have a son, Hutch, and a daughter, Alison. They also own a sewer rehabilitation company. Kristi enjoys traveling, exercising and going to the beach.

Kristen Hayden

Kristen Hayden will teach with Shannon Doyle this year in the 2s.  She graduated from IUS with a BS in Social Science with an emphasis in Education.  Kristen was a pre-school teacher for JCPS for 12 years and at Highland Pres for 5 years. She and her husband, Jason, have a 12 year old son, Miles who is growing up way too fast and a 5 year old daughter, Charlee. In her spare time Kristen enjoys reading, music, spending time with her family and friends, as well as vacationing at the lake and beach.

Sara Lewis

Sara Lewis graduated from University of Kentucky with a BS in Family Studies (Applied Childhood Development). She began her teaching career at St. Francis Preschool teaching 2 year-olds for 5 years. Sara spent several years as a full time mom to Warner, Morgan, and Ryan. She is looking forward to teaching 2s at 2nd Pres with Beth Powell.

Kim Pitchford

Kim Pitchford will be back with Kristi Conrad to teach in the 2s. She lives in Goshen with her family. Kim previously taught 2s at St. John Preschool in Oldham County for six years and also served as the 2s team leader, special interest area teacher, and facilities coordinator.  Kim received her degree in communications from UofL and after realizing her passion for two-year-olds, returned to school to receive her Child Development Associate degree. Kim enjoys spending time with her family, vacations, camping, walking, and attending her children’s activities.  Kim is also Co-Director of Extended Day with Sara Scott. This is Kim’s 7th year at 2nd Pres.

Beth Powell

Beth Powell is beginning her 4th year at 2nd Pres. She was a substitute for two years and this is her second year co-teaching with Ms. Sara in the twos. She attended the University of Kentucky and was a teacher for St. Francis school for 10 years. She and her husband, Mike, have two children, Lauren and Connor. In her spare time, she loves reading, exercising, and spending time with her family.

3’s Teachers

Melissa Bahe

Melissa Bahe graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Child and Family Development. Previously, Melissa helped in the art room and was a substitute teacher in the 2s, 3s, and 4s classroom. Melissa and her husband, John, are both 2nd Pres Alumni. They have two sons, Alex and Miles, who both completed their journey at 2nd Pres. Melissa enjoys spending time with her boys and is excited to be working with Mrs. Morgan in the 3s this year.

Connie Butler

Connie Butler joined our team in 1989 and has taught in our 2’s, 3’s and 4’s over the years. Bob, her husband, and Connie have two grown children, Austin and Robert. Their spouses and three grandsons complete the Butler family.  All finally live in Louisville! She will be co-teaching with Meg Demuth in the 3s.

Meg Demuth

Meg Demuth is enjoying her second year co-teaching with Connie Butler in the Green Room. She lives in Oldham County with her husband, Don and dog, Micah. Her oldest daughter, Ellie, teaches middle school math in London, England. Her youngest daughter is currently a junior at IU.

Kathy Humbert

Kathy Humbert is new to 2nd Pres this year. The past four years Kathy was an assistant Kindergarten teacher at The Vanguard Academy in Norton Commons.  She also taught 4 Day Fours at St. John Preschool. Kathy has one son, Charlie, who was adopted from Russia and is now a Mechanical Engineer in Berea, KY. She is so excited to be working with Lucy Roth in the 3s this year.

Cathy Morgan

Cathy Morgan earned her degree in education from Stephens College and is excited to be teaching 3’s with Melissa Bahe again this year.  She and her husband, Doug, have two daughters that were “2nd Pres Kids.” Cathy enjoys spending time with her family, the outdoors, reading, cooking, and more!

Lucy Roth

Lucy Roth is returning to the Purple Room 3’s for her second year and is looking forward to working with Kathy Humbert! Previous to her time in the Purple Room, Lucy spent two years as a part of the support staff at the Weekday School. During the summer, she is the Director of Smiley Camp and helps with 2nd Pres VBS. Lucy graduated from Denison University with a BA in Psychology and Economics. She enjoys traveling and exercising in her spare time.

4’s Teachers

Kathy Dutton

Kathy Dutton graduated from University of Kentucky’s Early Childhood program and has over 28 years of experience in three different states- KY, TX and Michigan.  The University of Kentucky provided Kathy with two things: a degree in Family Studies and her husband, Mark. They have been blessed with two sons, Andrew and Daniel.  Her favorite things to do are go on dates with her husband, read and write, hike, laugh with family and friends, and worship her Lord and Savior every day.

Lyndsy Hammil

Lyndsy Hammil studied at the University of Louisville where she received a BS in biology and chemistry, and two Masters in Special Education. Lyndsey started her career doing home therapy with preschools under the direction of our own Brenda Geisler. She worked at Anchorage School for 8 years developing a program to better serve students with autism and other disabilities. Lyndsy took a break when her twins were born, and they will be in our Kindergarten this year. This is Lyndsy’s 3rd year teaching at 2nd Pres. She enjoys reading, food, the outdoors, and being with her family. She is excited to be at 2nd Pres and teaching with Sherri Romano.

Sherri Romano

Sherri Romano graduated from Va. Tech with a BA in Elementary Education and has her Masters in Early Childhood Education from University of Louisville. Sherri has taught for 26 years, most recently 8 years at 2nd Pres. She also taught at St. John United Methodist Church preschool and Goshen Elementary for 10 years. Sherri and her husband, Tom, have 3 adult children; Stephanie, Christina, and Nick. She is excited to be teaching with Lyndsy Hammil in the 4s.

Valerie Wedding

Valerie Wedding has a Child Development Degree from University of Louisville. Before coming to Second Pres, she taught two year-olds at Sacred Heart. She has a shark-loving 10 year old, 4th grader. She is excited to be teaching the fours again with Kathy Dutton.


Molly Blacketer

Molly Blacketer has been teaching for 8 years.  She graduated from Indiana University with a degree in elementary education.  She received a masters in reading from Indiana University Southeast. Molly loves teaching literacy and generating excitement around reading and writing in the classroom.  She and her husband Trent have 2 year old twins, Campbell and Graham. She is excited to be in kindergarten at Second Pres!

Kelly Gant

Kelly Gant has an Elementary Education degree from Transylvania University, and she is certified in the Orton Gillingham reading program. Kelly has previously served as a co-teacher in a 3s and 4s multi-age class, 4s co-teacher and on the Kindergarten team.  She also taught at Liberty Elementary in Oldham County. Kelly and her husband, Lenny, enjoy spending time with their sons Owen and Campbell. In her spare time she walks and makes jewelry.

Karla Wright

Karla Wright joined our staff 19 years ago. She received a degree in Early Childhood Education from Champlain College in Burlington, VT. She has a variety of experiences with 3 to 6 year olds and has been a Teacher Trainer in Indiana. Karla has four children; Izaak, Nathan, Lily-Katherine, and Lincoln. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as attending church activities. She heads up the Kindergarten team with Molly Blacketer and Kelly Gant.


Priss Hovious

Priss Hovious studied Art History at Centre College. She then went onto the University of Louisville and got her teaching certification in Art, receiving a MAT degree. Priss taught Elementary Art for JCPS for a number of years. After having children, she decided to stay home and be a full-time mom. Her three children went all the way through 2nd Pres Weekday School- they all loved it! Priss is thrilled to circle back here in the Art room after several years of substitute teaching at KCD and here at 2nd. She can’t wait to get to know all the kids here. In her down time she enjoys almost anything outside and occasionally does a little cooking.


Kim Sego

Kim Sego (Music Specialist) will be her 5th year at 2nd Pres. Her first year, she taught in the 2s with Kim Pitchford. For the remaining years she has worked alongside Karen Stonebraker in Music and Movement. She has an appreciation and love for all music. She loves to watch even the youngest listener move to the beat and hum a tune. Kim has played the piano since she was 5 years old and believes even the most accomplished musician learns more every year. She has degrees from the University of Louisville and Spaulding University in Elementary Education and Library Science but believes the majority of her learning comes from working with children of all ages- birth and up. If you watch closely, you will learn something new, something not quoted in a child rearing book or text book, from the child right in front of you! She feels blessed to be a small part of the Weekday School and looks forward to another year of discovery!

Karen and John, her husband, enjoy cooking, gardening, and hiking. Karen has one daughter, Karanina, and two grandchildren. She enjoys gearing up for our annual Spring Sing and “Flings”!
